Ted Drewes was established in 1929 and voted as the “Best Ice Cream Shop in the World” in 2017
It is a St. Louis historical frozen custard company that we founded in 1929. When St. Louis residents define St Louis, they define it using the Gateway Arch, St. Louis Cardinals, and Ted Drewes.
The original location is on Chippewa Street, which is open all year. Chippewa Street was designated as part of the historic US Route 66. During the evenings, the traffic is huge; people lined up waiting for their Ted Drewes frozen custard.
They have received many awards, but the most respected reward came in 2017, being voted the “Best Ice Cream Shop in the World” by a branding and marketing agency in Dublin, Ireland, which creates the world ice cream index each year.
