It is located in the Woodchase Plaza, alongside other highly rated restaurants, including Balkans Store & Bakery (closed), Satchmo’s Bar & Grill, East East Oriental Market, Tony’s K-Food, Lefty’s Bagels, and Kim’s Bakery. The center has evolved into a dining destination featuring these highly rated restaurants.
It is located west of the Highway 141 and Olive Boulevard intersection, approximately 200 yards away, making it an easy destination to reach regardless of where you are driving from. There is ample parking throughout the facility.

Additionally, they serve a complete list of alcoholic beverages, a bar, great food, and service in a clean, enjoyable atmosphere. They offer online ordering with delivery using multiple third-party delivery companies and are a featured partner of eOrderSTL.
We visit this El Maguey Mexican Restaurant location frequently and don’t understand or support the reviews. The service and food are always good, and the staff are family members who are always lovely and helpful. However, we disagree with most of the ratings and reviews, especially the Yelp rating.
There are several El Maquey Mexican restaurants in the region. However, this is one of the oldest, and it remains owned by the founding family.
In December 2025, El Maguey Mexican Restaurant added a bar with TVs. It comfortably seats 10 customers, and all barstools offer a great view of the TVs for entertainment, making it a great destination to meet friends to watch your favorite games or to have a drink and catch up on each other’s lives. The family plans additional minor renovations and upgrades to celebrate their upcoming anniversary.
The strip center they are located in has multiple highly-rated restaurants and bars, making it a great place to visit.
The family is creating a few additional changes that will be announced soon to enhance their customers’ experience. Stay tuned!
