Hendel’s in Florissant is voted as the best by Tripadvisor for “Dinner” and “Local Cuisines” as of August 23, 2021

This restaurant is one of the best restaurants in the St. Louis region by many different standards.  They offer classic & creative American dishes & a full bar, offered in a circa-1873 general store with a patio.  Located deep inside a community, this is the perfect setting for this type of restaurant.

While this page is not intended to be a review, this is a must-visit regardless of where you live in the region.  The building dates back to 1873, and the owners over the years have done an incredible job maintaining its original, beautiful historical presence, making it a significant contribution to the community.  The building has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places by the United States Department of the Interior.

What we noticed, which is not normal, and speaks loudly for their cuisines, is the Yelp rating.  Normally, Yelp ratings are 0.5 to 1.5 stars lower than ratings on Google, Facebook, Tripadvisor, etc.  Therefore, if Yelpers have given this place a 4.5-star rating, it has to be awesome.

Hendel’s was the #1 rated restaurant in St. Louis for “Moderate Prices” by a leading online rating service.  We published the article today, August 25, 2021.

We consider this restaurant one of the most relevant in the St. Louis metro region.  We will be expanding our content related to Hendel’s and the building’s historical value to the community.  It has been overlooked for too long.
