It is a sister restaurant to the famous Charlie Gitto’s on The Hill in St. Louis, Missouri, which opened in 1981. This original location will undergo remodeling at that location in January 2025.
43 years at the original location and 20 years Charlie Gitto’s at Hollywood Casino location. That fact alone is historic for a private restaurant owner who remains involved daily.
Charlie Gittos has a fantastic empire of two restaurants with historical records of fans from across the country craving his authentic, award-winning cuisine and a wine selection that is consistent year after year.
This location opened in 2004 and was recently remodeled to enhance the dining experience.
Casino visitors, travelers, and residents who love to gamble and eat sumptuous Italian cuisine fuel most traffic to this location.

The quality is the same at both locations, and the menu items are similar, if not the same. However, the atmosphere is much different from that of the original location. It is classy but more modern than the traditional fine-dining atmosphere that the other location creates.
It is a significant achievement to be considered the best Italian restaurant in St. Louis. While there are many great Italian restaurants in the region, this one is the best, in our opinion.

Recently, we published information in an article announcing the launch of Charlie Gitto’s privately labeled wine, sauces, and dressing. They offer a Chianti and a Pinot Grigio, and both are excellent. They are the best, or Mr. Gitto would not have chosen them.

The strange thing about this situation is that Charlie Gitto’s on The Hill has an unusually high Yelp rating, which we note. This has to result from negative Yelpers losing money and taking it out on a dinner they get for rewards earned by gambling. Again, we do NOT support the Yelp rating for this location.
