An Opening Update for Thai Mama in Maryland Heights, Missouri.
MARYLAND HEIGHTS, MO (StLouisRestaurantReview) The owner of Thai Mama and Thai Kitchen chain, Sasimonthon Ongartsutthikul, estimates Thai Mama will open sometime in March 2024.
According to Ongartsutthikul, the complexity of opening a restaurant makes it almost impossible to be a viable business. The original opening date was anticipated in September or October 2023. The complexity confuses contractors who deal with the rules and regulations daily.
The electrical and plumbing should be complete today, and if that happens, inspections can occur before the end of the week, leaving the occupancy and health inspection remaining. In short, the hard part should be over today.

Update on the Opening Date of Thai Mama as of March 7, 2024:
Today, they have passed the fire system inspection but failed the electrical, plumbing, and health inspections. The failures were due to small items that the contractor is fixing now. They will have reinspections next week, and hopefully, they will pass. They believe that we will open in March 2024.
Update on the Opening Date of Thai Mama as of March 12, 2024:
On Monday, March 11, 2024, we passed the plumbing inspection and obtained our sign permit, allowing our electrician to close out the electrical permit as it passed. Therefore, as we understand it, the only remaining task is to obtain and pass the health inspection on Wednesday, March 13, 2024.
