(StLouisRestaurantReview) The Missouri Restaurant Association has created the “Restaurant Workers Benefit Fund MRA Education Foundation”. Their mission is to support restaurant workers affected by the closure mandated by local authorities relating to COVID-19.
Restaurant employees whose jobs have been affected, whether due to decrease in hours or loss of employment, assistance is possibly available. It is based on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to availability of funds. 100% of the Fund’s proceeds will be used to provided grants to those that apply and qualify.
The resumption of the Restaurant Workers Benefit Fund MRA Education Foundation (RWBF) is made possible through donations made by Major Brands, and partners, including, Beam Suntory and The Wine Group. The RWBF has raised more than $1.3 million since its founding in April, with an initial donation by Major Brands and Beam Suntory of $100,000.
Grant Criteria
Initially, funds will be available to employees of restaurants in St. Louis County who certify they have been laid-off or had their hours reduced.
