Restaurant Review – Asian Corner in Valley Park, Missouri

Asian Corner is one of the best-rated Asian Restaurants in the St. Louis region serving Thai and other Asian cuisines.

VALLEY PARK, MO (StLouisRestaurantReview) As most followers know, we only cover small, locally-owned restaurants in the St. Louis region.  Therefore, we are constantly searching for those hidden gems that are hard to find.

We were tipped off about Asian Corner in Valley Park, Missouri, by one of their customers.  The customer told us that it was the best Asian restaurant around, so we began our research and followed up by meeting the owners.

We ate lunch there on Thursday, February 23, 2023.  We could not have been more pleased and impressed with everything we considered before writing this review.

The first thing we checked out was the online reviews, and we found some unusual but interesting facts about this small family-owned business.

Asian Corner online reviews as of February 23, 2023, are as follows:

• Yelp – 4.5 Stars with more than 140 online reviews

All of their online reviews across all major review sites are consistently high.  They opened in 2017 and have done an incredible job racking up many high reviews.  After visiting there for lunch and then meeting the owners, it is easy to see why they are loved as much as they are.

It is a Thai family-owned business, and the owners don’t want to take all of the credit because each family member works hard to create their unique cuisine.

Another impressive fact is that all of their health inspection scores are a low of 96% and top out at 100%.

More interesting facts:

• The soup broth is homemade
• Dipping sauces are homemade
• All appetizers are homemade; nothing is frozen
• Pad Thai is their homemade sauce
• Curry is homemade

The entire staff is family members who have created a great working relationship.

The owners’ attention to detail is unparalleled.  They clean the windows frequently without using an outside service.

During the interview, I asked many questions that each responded to graciously and possessed the ownership pride that further explains the top-ranking awards.

Unlike most restaurant owners, they are happy with the current situation and have no plans to expand with additional locations because it takes everything they must do to make things work.

While this restaurant is the couple’s first, they plan on being at this location for several more years as they have just renewed and extended their lease.

When the couple took over this location, it was previously a Chinese fast-food establishment.  As a result, it required significant work to clean and reconfigure the space to its current status.

The entire staff on duty is 4 to 5 family members.  Approximately 60% of food sales come from delivery and carry-out, and alcohol sales are 10% to 15%.

• Noodles – 9 to choose from

• Curry – 6 to choose from, with Red Curry being the hottest item while Green Curry is rapidly growing in sales
• Dessert – 5 to choose from
• Lunch Specials – available Monday thru Friday from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm, priced at $10.95

The business hours are Tuesday thru Saturday from 11:30 am to 8:30 pm.

While the Average Rating is 4.7 Stars, we believe this rating is slightly understated for reasons we don’t understand.  Still, nonetheless, we recommend this establishment and give Asian Corner a 4.8 Star Rating.

Lastly, they have revised their website, which will enhance their communications with their customers.

We are confident that we will be offering more information about this establishment in the future.  But, more importantly, we are sure that this family will continue to please their customers and improve their operation due to their close attention to detail.
