Burger Champ to Close Maplewood Location Friday, June 21, 2024. Another restaurant bites the dust!
MAPLEWOOD, MO (StLouisRestaurantReview) Burger Champ, located at 2704 Sutton Blvd, Maplewood, MO 63143, has announced on its social media account that it will be closing this Friday, June 21, 2024.
The post read: “Simply put, the space is too big for the concept, and the resources needed to continue are past the point of sustainability.” The post stated that there is no other concept coming from this space. Additionally, it stated that we will see burgers from us again, but no additional information was given.
This is a constant struggle for restaurants, both small and large. Reading between the lines, our interpretation is what we are hearing from all restaurants: They can’t hire help making slower sales with expensive rent, and property owners will regret the high prices that they are infecting their tenants with.
We expect that this will only be the beginning of the slowdown as consumer buying habits change and people do not want to work. It doesn’t appear that money is enough to incentivize them.
We know restaurants offering 25-35 dollars per hour but still can’t hire staff.
